Position: Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Director of Maintenance

Classification: Non-Exempt

About Our Operation:

We are an FAA part 145 Repair Station that has been in operation for over 20 years. Our primary operation involves maintaining and repairing our associated Part 141 flight school aircraft; however, we also perform maintenance on outside customer aircraft. Our Avionics shop performs various avionics upgrades to multiple types of aircraft and are an essential part of the North Star Operation. Our team is growing, and we are looking at creating 2nd and weekend shifts to provide further support to our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Perform 100hr, annual and progressive inspections on Piper Warriors, Archers, and Seminoles
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain several types of GA aircraft
  • Provide maintenance support to flight school aircraft in an effort to avoid aircraft down time
  • Provide maintenance insight to students as needed
  • Correctly create and complete all paperwork for aircraft maintenance to include
    • Work orders
    • Logbook Labels
    • Company and FAA forms

Required Skills

  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent Communication
  • Work effectively with minimal Supervision under stressful situations

Requirements

  • A&P license preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must own basic set of hand tools
